If you didn't get the answers that you were looking for, I've got the sixth printing of the 1938 "Trout" by Bergman, the one that was done near the end of WW II, and inclusive of the disclaimer that "this book was produced in full compliance of all government regulations for the conservation of paper, metal and other essential materials." I believe there were revisions made and new fly patterns added, and others dropped, in later editions.

Thank you Lady! We have been able to determine the fly we were looking for was not in the first edition.
