Jim, if you were going to south Florida for several days you would want to plan on fishing the ditches. I think they are burrow pits where they took dirt to build up the roads. The average elevation in south Florida is pretty low. But the fishing is great with everything from the native bass and bream to peacock bass, oscars and other tropicals fish that have been released by the citizenry. I know over in the Ft. Lauderdale area a "red berry" fly is good for grass carp, who eat berries that fall of the trees.
