This is the second rod that I have done using the Coats & Clark 40 wt Rayon thread. The first build was fine, as I was sure that I got CP down into the tunnels. I put 2 diluted coats of CP and then 2 more coats regular strength. I knew that when I saw the dark spots what I had done wrong, or in this case what I didn't do. Been there, done that!
I was going to use Gudebrod Candy Apple Red, but I did not have enough to do the rod, so I used what darker red color that I had on hand. Don't tell my wife, but I got this out of her sewing box.
