Canon G10 retired to "back-up" camera...New camera Sony RX100

Two trips to Canon in the last 4 years and another trip pending is enough.
The canon high end point and shoots have a design flaw in the retractable
lens cover and they scratch the lens. I have had that fixed twice now and
it needs it again. Can service denies any design flaw. Just do a search on
google and you will see.

Did lots of research and this is my new camera:

Thanks for the info. I have an old Kodak digital that takes truly great P&S pictures, but is a brick. I have been thinking of buying a digital camera that is pocket sized. I don't do super close-ups and don't care if the camera is waterproof. I shoot landscapes, and people indoor and out. I really like the ability to zoom in and out for my shots, especially the ability to zoom to avoid having to make long hikes for a landscape shot.

A question based on your link, if you don't mind: Why did you choose the $650 RX100 over the $250 WX150?
