    Default O-ring for Renzetti Traveler

Does anyone know the dimensional designation for the proper size O-Ring so I could order a couple from a hardware store? Thanks

According to past threads, looks like 3/8" inner diameter:

Your local hardware store does not carry a selection?!?! How about a local auto parts store? Bring the pieces in and match them up... Get several and store them in a plastic bag to keep them usable.

I had a renzetti vice after several o rings I trashed it. Worst design in a high end vice. Never own one that has to have a rubber band to hold it together again.

My Presentation 3000 Renzetti is great. Screw type jaws. Excellent clearance around jaws and very well built. They make some fine tools. Gotta get the one that fits your preferences.

They are #7 (1/2 inch OD x 3/8 inch ID x 1/16 inch) O rings. Pick up a package for a couple of buck at Home Depot or Loews.

I use a Renzetti Master ay home and a traveller as my teaching vise. Never have had a problem.

3/8" I.D. I've had mine for over 15 years (original owner had it for 5) and had to replace it once. I keep a couple extra on the shaft, just in case, but have a feeling my kids would be the next ones to change it.

    Scott

Or you can simply order and buy the O Ring kits from Renzetti. Now Renzetti use to be good but feel their quality has gone way down hill. Any vise that requires rubber bands and sales a spare parts kit for their vises says enough. I used to be a Renzetti fan and can honestly back what I am saying. I have left the Renzetti brand and all it's messed up hype after 14 years. Renzetti's customer service is tha pits. If all you are looking for is a vise that can turn the fly to look at the other side of it, then think of the two following brands:

    1) Regal Medallion with the stainless steel jaws
    2) HMH Standard and spartan models.

    Simple, easy and hold hooks.
