Okay, I'm trying to decide whether to keep the Crosswater, with spare spool or to get 2 spare spools for the CD 9/10. One set will stay, the other will be sold off. I have only used the Crosswater at this point.
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks,
Mike

Keep the CD. It has much better drag than the Crosswater and the machined aluminum construction will be more durable over the long haul. The Crosswater is a pretty good reel for the money. The CD cost about 4 times as much so you would expect it to be better.
Th CD 9/10 is a pretty good reel for 6 through 10 wt lines. The CD hasnt been made for a few years as it was replaced by the Rise in Redington's line up, so you might have to hunt for spools.
Ahhh, thanks taliingloop. That's what I needed. Redington will sell me 2 spare spools that they have kicking around. I felt the CD was better and you have pushed me there, gratefully!
Thanks,
Mike
i bought a crosswater to use for steelhead in erie tribs. it lasted 2 seasons before the spool started rubbing on the housing.
