"The fish were a fur out in the river"

Sorry, Ducksterman, I could not help myself....: )

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

Thank you Warren. I just got back from a short but tiring business trip and I needed a good chuckle before I go to bed.

I'm sure it was something commonly overheard in the 60's and 70's, often in the presence of spinning & flashing multicolored disco ball lights??

Or maybe what Scooby said to Shaggy when they finally found the hidden stash of Scooby Snacks?

Its the first thought to cross our minds when we each discovered how much fun it was to catch fish on fly gear.

Its what was drilled into the minds of the neanderthal football field-goal kicking units.

Obviously when eating little critters, you cook them "Fur Out". That way they get good and crispy!

Do you have a context? Where did you hear/read that phrase?

    Is it a synthetic product?
Oh...I found some info on it. It was a Bernat yarn company product...which apparently was removed from the market due to flammability issues.

    I
t was made of 92% Viscose and 8% Polyester.

Yeah...that looks like it would be a GREAT fly-tying product!
