many thanks for a refreshing read. I started chasing the big fellows in the 40s and still love them.

A little late to the party, but thanks Dave for the link. Dreaming of on the water time chasing my favorite freshwater fish.

Holy cow! Been out three times so far, and haven't hooked a thing! I am itchin' so bad to feel that all-too-familiar tug... And itchin' for carp, too! I suspect the water temperature here isn't much more than 40-45 degrees...

Been pretty good out here for how early it is...I caught 29 on the 9th, and got back out today with my buddy david. He got 3 or 4 and I had 9 or 10. One big 17 lber and a lot of little ones. I am still waiting for the big girls to show up!

That guy got caught! Hah...still a little cold but it has been great for early season!

    Nice fish fly goddess!

This was the biggest one we got this weekend.

Wow did we have great weather. It should really heat up over the next few weeks.

Okay, so I hit the water today at a toasty 60 degree air temp... they are starting to dolphin. Oh man. But I did what every rookie carper does and tried to cast to the splash.

... that is what every rookie does, right? I just can't see the darned things! I know they are down there! And probably in droves with the water warming up so much! Blarg.
