Default Fishing The Ford On The First

It had been a long standing tradition to start the year by fishing Rocky Ford on New Years Day.

We have missed out the last couple years, but this is a fun gathering that should be revived!

So, if your interested plan on showing up at the third parking lot anytime from daybreak on!

We typically have a group lunch, bring your own and if you want, something to share.

Location: Rocky Ford Creek, Ephrata, WA
    Date: 1/1/13
    Time: Daybreak to mid afternoon

Would be great to see folks there and start the year of fishing out right!

It can look a whole ot different than that -- All white with deep snow and blowing wind. But, that is part of the 'charm' of Rocky Ford.

Thanks to all that showed! A fairly mild 1st this year. Temps in the mid 20's a high overcast and no wind till after lunch!

NJT, both FFB and I fished that spot in your picture, with sucess!

Every report I heard said folks were hooking up.. sometimes landing, sometimes not. I got two on drys and a few more on nymphs and scuds.

Sage, it is a pretty place to be. The grasses covered in a dusting of snow with the sage sticking thru. Clean air, coyotes baying their songs. Great way to start a new year!

Thanks again to all that joined us there. I look forward to next year!
