I was fishing the other day and I landed several fish with hooks in there mouths, one was on the edge of the lip wich was removed with no problem. The other fish however were hooked in the tongue so I decided to remove the hook from one of them. The hook came out rather easy but the fish started to bleed pretty bad. It swam away right away and seemed fine but I was wondering if it would have been better to leave the hook in him. When I landed a third trout with a hook deep in it's mouth I was afraid to try to take it out so I left it in. These were not my hooks I was removing they were left in there from other anglers. All the fish were actively feeding so it would seem the hooks were doing them no harm but I thought it would be better to try to take them out. By the way it seems to me people are using to light of a tippet or the need to settle down on their hook set.
