I fortuned upon a pod of very LARGE Gar today on the body of water right in front of my house. I have always known that they were there as I found one dead a few years ago but have never caught one and didnt know thay existed in such large numbers, there must've been 200 sunning themselves as I paddled my canoe over them. I know that they spawn around now and now I want to catch one after seeing them...obviously!!! There were a number over 4' long!!! Its funny I thought I had caught ALL species that exist here and now this... Even the prehistoric Ling(bowfin)

Anyone fish for em? Gierach got skunked trying for them in Even Brook Trout Get the Blues...I am not sure I want to try the "Nylon rope" tactic, but willing to try anything, I guess...

"The more widely one observes nature, the more it appeals to one's soul. Why? Because there is a music there; and the wider one's outlook on life becomes, the deeper one's understanding of life, the more music one can listen to, the music that
answers the whole universe." --Inayat Khan
