Several times, this time of the year, I've got into some great crappie fishing. Seems as if the low sunlight, kills of the weeds where the young of the year Bluegill, sunfish, crappie, bass, etc have been hiding and the crappie and white bass being minnow predators par excellence, go on a feeding binge. On one lake even found them schooling up and chasing bait fish schools like saltwater fish, slashing through the school, and causing quite a surface commotion. We'd ran the motor to get in range and throw bead head streamers, hooking up immediately!
