    Default Edge Crappie

Went out from 10 am to 2 pm today. Weird hours I know.
Got some nice crappie fishing the weed edges that were a foot out from the shore.
Might want to ytry this on small ponds.
FEB Hopper by John Scott takes crappie also.

I got a bunch of crappies today as well...from very shallow water around the edge of an old pit. Weirdly shallow.

I got a bunch of Crappies yesterday on Watts Bar Lake right along the 'Edge' of a public boat dock in a cove in about 6 ft of water. Crappie were ambushing the multiple schools of little threadfin shad. Nailed them all on a Chartruese/White clouser tyed on sz 6 Gamakatsu stinger hook with extra small yellow/black pupil lead eyes. All fish ranged from 8-11". Also caught a 20" white bass right along the dock too! Much fun and good eats! Always encouraging to hear about a good crappie bite! Thanks for sharing and allowing me to brag some too!

Several times, this time of the year, I've got into some great crappie fishing. Seems as if the low sunlight, kills of the weeds where the young of the year Bluegill, sunfish, crappie, bass, etc have been hiding and the crappie and white bass being minnow predators par excellence, go on a feeding binge. On one lake even found them schooling up and chasing bait fish schools like saltwater fish, slashing through the school, and causing quite a surface commotion. We'd ran the motor to get in range and throw bead head streamers, hooking up immediately!
