    Default WYOMING - SE MONTANA

You guys are the best, thanks a lot. Trout don't live in ugly places, but neither have any of the other fish I have caught.

Remember, a man who doesn't fish will lie to you about something important. JD

I have fished the Tongue in northern Wy. It is west of Sheridan. There is plenty of public access just west of Burgess Junction.
    Gorgeous cutts in it.

I would think your best bet is try the Bighorn River. It is public water and good water at that. Take the Interstate that heads up to Billings from Sheridan, WY, when you get to Hardin, MT go into town and look for one of the fly shops, get some advice, directions and a license. There are places to sleep, eat and go fish a Blue Ribbon Monana trout crick. What more could a guy ask for? Let me re-phrase that, what more could a guy my age ask for??

I have also fished Clear Creek in the City Park in Buffalo Wy. Fish are small but fun and your close to a watering hole when your done.

    Where's MARCO!!!!

Just head west of Cheyenne, on I80, to Laramie, jog down HW 130 to Centennial, and you've got the Medicine Bow Nat'l forest. Snowy Range has some of the most incredible brookie, rainbow, and brown fishing (and cutthroat, higher elevations) that you could ever hope to encounter! And VERY few people! Little streams, big fish, nice ponds, big fish ... could you ask for anything better?

And welcome to the site! You'll like it here!

I used drys at the two streams I mentioned.
8' 3 wt rod the first year on the Tongue.
Last year I fished para Adams on the Tongue and a buggy looking Stimy. Since Para Adams is my fav dry fly I prolly used it on Clear Creek as well. Orvis Far and Fine is the only rod I packed on last summers trip

    Short, fine rods (5-6 1/2 footers 1-2-3 weights, 7 1/2 #5 for the ponds).
    Tiny drys, spiders, tiny midges.

    Jesse,

Up around Pinedale WY, you can fish the Green River and then there are all of the alpine lakes in the Wind River mountain range....There are also grayling in some of the lakes north of Pinedale.....Best of luck!
