Is there a resource I can use for making a crease fly template? I'm looking to tie some bass flies size 2 and 4.
Thanks

Here it is: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flyt...ps/part351.php
Have fun!
I traced around a guitar pick to create my template...
This is the actual size that I use for a 34011 #2 (longshank) hook.
The end result (pardon the cell phone pic):
You can cut the "V" out of the bottom to give it a better profile.

Great idea, SMIJ, I have plenty of guitar picks.
Ladyfisher, thanks for the link. I didn't know one existed.
When you make your crease fly, make the front flat and allmost at 90 deg to the hook shank. This is not the usual look but what you will find is the ones with the front end leaning forward will sometimes roll ot the retrieve or even flip over and grab water when you go to pick it up on the back cast. Try it out both ways and see what you think. If you do a google search on imiges you will see all kinds of shapes. The one for me to prove best has been the flat face shape. Check out Joe Blado"s crease fly. Have fun with it and post some of your creations. Tight lines.
You can also try River Road Creations Crease Fly cutters which can be used to stamp out bodies.
