When you arise in the morning, think of what a
precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think,
    to enjoy, to love.

Does the "Green Eggs and Ham Sam I Am" from the old C-Rations count. How about the unidentifiable crap they used to bring out from the mess hall in the mermite containers. If you can eat military rations of the Korean War/Vietnam War era you caneat just about anything.

Anyone for some powdered eggs? Reconstituted with powdered milk mixed with bleech water of course.

While in Korea some dog meat. Wasn't bad tasting until I found out it wasn't beef.

The worm in the bottom of a bottle of Mescal...tasted just like crane fly larva!

    Hairwing,

Why would you know what a crane fly larva tastes like?

I had a job that had me doing a lot of international traveling, typically three different continents a month. I ordered octopus in Brazil and got some really nice steak- like pieces. A couple of weeks later I was in Venice and the menu included octopus. I ordered it again, expecting some really nice steak-like cuts. Instead, I got 4 flattened baby octopi, each with two eyes staring up at me.

I don't think I want to know what I ate in Korea, but it all tasted good and there was lots of sake to wash it down.

An orange salamander......in SERE school. It was not good, and it protested getting bit in half. I followed it with a handfull of Sassafras leaves though and that helped. So the next one went rolled up in a leaf. Kinda like a crude "Pig-in-the-blanket".

I cannot eat a bug...my mind won't let it happen. But as long a I convice myself that it's "meat", I'm good. Minnow, salamander, frog etc. Can't eat squid though....that is just wrong....squid is bait.
