I know this is out of range for many people on this board, but I thought some of you might be interested in hearing about this fly fishing event.

This Saturday, June 24, the Red River Fly Fishers and Texas Parks and Wildlife will be hosting ?Texoma on the Fly? at Eisenhower State Park on the shores of Lake Texoma. Lake Texoma is located on the Texas and Oklahoma border about an hour north of Dallas, TX. Thanks to the support of TP&W, this event is free, park entrance fees are waived, and free hot dogs (while they last) will be provided for lunch.

The basic schedule is:

6-9 a.m. - Fishing at Eisenhower SP. As part of the ?Family Fishing Celebration?, a fishing license is not required to fish from the shore in any Texas state park during the summer 2006.

9-12 noon - Registration, fly tying demos, fly fishing education stations, and free fly casting classes.

(Note - Free fly casting classes are being offered, taught by certified casting instructors Al Crise, Steve Hollensed, Dave Speer, and David Bradley. The classes are as follows: 1) "Fly Casting for Stripers" at 9 a.m.; 2) "Beginner Fly Casting" at 10 a.m.; 3) "Casting Fault Analysis Class" at 10 a.m.; and 4) Intermediate Fly Casting" at 11 a.m.).
