Ross Mueller's Fuzzball (Snowshoe Hare Emerger). The snowshoe hare wing is quick to tie and durable and easy to care for on the stream.

Tail: soft hackle fibers of choice
    Body: dubbing of choice
Wing: snowshoe hare tied fairly full and clipped to length
    Thorax: dubbing of choice

Softhackles tied on light wire are often effective. This Waterhen Bloa is a good one. Size 16-14, thread yellow, body touch dubbed ever so lightly with water rat (now protected I think, I used mole on this one), and hackle is from the wing of a moor's hen. You could use any light gray feather suitable for soft hackles on this.

The Mole fly (named after the River Mole in England; nothing to do with moles) has never really had a standard dressing. The older pattern books will list several examples, but the only thing they have in common is that the wing extends out over the eye of the hook. CDC is just another material in a long list.

I concur with the soft hacke suggestion.
