For walleye fishing in the rivers around here a sinking tip is a necessity. Cool for pulling Dahlberg Divers and other foam or deerhair bass bugs down close to the canopy. JGW

I've used sink tip on rivers and loved it. I've also used in on lakes and have had no problem. Nice thing is I throw it into the pocket of my vest and when I'm in my float tube and realize I left the spare spool in the truck, I cna still get down deep. Sportsmans Warehouse has a tip that goes about 3"/Second and starts at 12ft and you can modify to size. It does hinge a bit, but on stil water I dont care.
Orvis also has tips and they don't hinge as badly.
