Good price and a must have book if you really want to study many different tying techniques. I received one as a gift when I first started tying and it was a real eye opener. Well worth the price for the would be tyer.

I really appreciate all "Bench side books" but really prefer going through the Archives here on FAOL.
Really easy to pull them up and go with the well pictured info we have here. I might add it costs nothing.

I had the Benchside book for a couple years - and that is exactly where it was almost the entire time - at the benchside.

Then I gave it away in a free drawing here on the FAOL Bulletin Board. Best use I ever found for it. Made someone happy.

Yes - it has everything, to the point of being totally overwhelming for some of us. And it actually has very little to do with fly angling, but that's another subject altogether, isn't it.

One more to add would be Terry Hellekson's , Fish Flies The Encyclopedia Of The Fly Tier's Art. More about fly pattern's than technique's it contain's 100's of pattern's. If you think the Benchside Reference is a little to much this one's twice as thick. Great book for many little know pattern's if it's your taste.

It's a stunning tying book. Well worth the price. If you ever see a fly and say "how'd he do that?" it's in the FTBR.
