Am I the only person who doesn't care to use that stuff? I don't like pinching my leader in the cap, and it takes longer to dry a fly than it does to just rotate flies. On some patterns it's also hard to get all the crystals off..especially if the fly has been slimed a few times.

Keeping your fly in the air a little longer can help keep it dry, as can whipping the thing through the air like you're fending off a swarm of bees Depending on the fly, just keeping it in the air for a few extra strokes per cast can even make floatant unnecessary. On calm water I hate seeing that oil slick of gink around my fly, and I'm guessing it's not particularly appetizing to the fishes.
