    Nice Buddy. I'm going to try some with permanent marker and seal them acrylic. I have some plain ones with eyes and some without eyes, too.

    Question, how do gills eat a bug? You know, bass attack the head and trout attack from behind.

    I think bluegill attack like teenage boys "I think I can get that in my mouth! Yum!" Mostly from behind however.

    Here's a article from Max over in GA you might like concerning painting:

    I
    have experimented with Delta Ceramacoat Varnish and paints. I really like the finished look and durability.
    Sorry about the poor phone pick, but here is an example of a foam body popper before the legs are added.

    Here is another foam Crease fly painted with prismacolor markers then varnished with Delta Ceramacoat.

    I've been into a popper kick the past few months. When I was just starting I found a set of videos from Kirk Dietrich on making poppers from perch floats. These really helped me as he goes through how to make them and then on how to paint them. Since, I've been using acrylic paints and then finishing them with a 30 minute epoxy. I just got a Copic Airbrush System that works off of markers that I just started messing around with this week. My little air compressor came with an airbrush kit but I need to get some paint to try that out.

    Here are the two videos:

    Here are some I took pictures of last week. I have some better ones I need to take pictures of that I was working on.

    I wonder if Kirk knows Walt Holman. Walt was from LA (resided in north AL) and tied at the conclaves for years. His flies look sooo much like Walt's it's erie...
    EDITED:::
    Haha I just finished watching the entire video and he mentions Walt. LA is Lousiana. Although he would say he has been to all the LA's.

    Great looking popper by the way. I like the color combo.

    You need to be a little more specific with LA, do you mean lower Alabama, Louisiana or Los Angeles? I suspect you mean Louisiana but we have board members from all over.

    UJ,
    Walt is a true cajun- but don't tell him I called him a coon ;^) He's a great guy and very well respected. Still resides in North AL and is a member of our FFF club. He makes some of the most amazing balsa creations I have ever seen.
