Default My grand daughter caught her first fish yesterday. Several of them were with Tenkara

My grand daughter and I have been trying to catch a fish together for months. We finally went to a local pond in a park which was stocked with bluegill. She caught her first fish on her own spinning rod with yellow power bait on a hook. She then caught 4 more within about half an hour.

I brought my Tenkara rod because it's so small, easy to carry and easy to set up. But I was more focused on helping her with her fish. She said I should fish too so we can fish together so I set up the Tenkara. After catching a few more I just kept handing the rod to her to bring them in.

At one point she asked if she could cast it.

"Sure" I said as I handed her the rod.

She did a few cast and this is the result

As I listen to the video I think I was easily as excited about it as she was.
