Hello everyone, I havent fly fished in roughly 4 years or so but it seems the itch to get back to it needs to be scratched! now the thing is i never really knew what good equipment was, my old combo was just picked up at sports authority and i enjoyed it up until it's demise on a camping trip but what im looking for now is something to go after bass, trout and other native species in my area (CT) but primarily chasing bass in lakes and some streams and rivers. I've looked around online and at my local store a bit and i think I've decided to go with a 9' rod tossing 7 or 8 weight line, that's about all i have decided, reel and brands are up in the air. Now that said im trying to keep my total expenditure under 225 and here are my thoughts so far:

1) temple fork Pro series 4 piece 9' rod in 7 or 8 weight $150 http://tinyurl.com/lrgyw[/url:422f5] paired with this entry reel that ive been told is good bang for the buck- http://tinyurl.com/qfs9j[/url:422f5] id spend another 50 or so for good line (line goes for the rest of the options as well)

2) a Scott V-2 908 in 8 weight at $185, or in 6 weight for $165, both 9' feet long and id pair it with the same entry reel listed above.

3) this bass pro shops combo that ive heard decent things about- http://tinyurl.com/mbwt3[/url:422f5]

4) my local shop had a used Harrison rod, 10' long 8 weight and said i could take that for $75... should i consider going used? i know nothing about this brand and im not sure i want to go longer than 9' but if it's a "steal" id consider it of course

well that's what i've thought of so far and i'm sorry for the lengthy first post; any comments on if i'm heading in the right direction or other combo ideas in my price range will be greatly apprecciatted. thanks for any help, best regards- James
