    Default 7ft 1wt glass rod

This one is a 7' 1wt 2pc glass blank. Grip is a all natural cork Fenwick style to retain the vintage look even though the rod is brand new. Seat is a rosewood seat with A5 barrel&rear hood but I didn;t like the A5 front hood with the Fenwick grip so I used a round front hood from an A7 which fits perfectly with the fenwick style grip. Wraps are Garnet (no CP) and no trim to give it that old style look.

Great looking rod Steve. Do you think glass is making a real come back and do you plan to build more?

I think there has always been a following of glass, but since the major name rod makers always stick with the newest technology because that's where the money is, then people that were somewhat "newer" to the sport viewed glass as old technology and looked down on it. But lately even some of the big name companies have started to offer some more moderate action style rods. So I think at the very least the more moderate action rod is starting to make a come back. Not sure if more companies will offer glass in the near future or not, but if so then I'll build more glass. It's just not real easy to find glass blanks at the moment ...outside of a couple venders.

Due to supply issues, Does buying a glass casting rod make sense, then tearing down for a rebuild?
