You just post a "Dinosaur" to guard your hole.

It might be made of wood but maybe it'll still keep them away!

Just wanted to take a photo of the spot and didn't realize till I downloaded and viewed it later that it contained a prehistoric guardian.

First do a search on Rattlesnake signs, go to Images, pick a nice one and make a few large copies, hang where appropriate. Works every time. Love your Guaridan photo!

Looks like Nessie moved to another, more cozy, location

quivira kid - That area that looks like a 45 degree waterfall is a neat fairly smooth rock formation about 30' to 40' long. In these hot summer days folks like to hike the trail up to this place and slide down to the pool at the bottom. Think the pool is something like 4' to 5' deep. Water is all spring fed and when I was there about two weeks ago the water temperature was still at 58 degrees. Too cold for me except for occasionally having to step in the stream while fishing.

maodiver - Nessie is still in Lake Champlain. I left Vermont but she stayed.

Chuck S - Where I fish at the extreme upper end of this little gem is supposed to contain rattlesnakes of the real variety although I've never personally encountered one and don't care to. Did take a photo of a neat black snake of about 3 1/2" to 4 1/2" last time there though.

Not going back till everything cools down quite a bit more. I think it puts too much stress on the fish even though the water remains pretty cold. It was 101 yesterday with today calling for 99. We've had 10 straight days in the 90's or over 100 plus that big power outage to deal with that's been all over the TV. Luckily we didn't lose ours but for two short bursts. A friend returned home after a six day vacation to find all the contents of refrigerator and freezer in a massive pile of goo on the floor and a wooden one at that in the kitchen - YUCK!

Actually I use a taser myself. "Get out of my fishing hole, get out of my fishing hole now or I'll taser your (behind)!"

I thought "Champ" lived in Lake Champlain?? He and Nessie get together to reproduce somewhere out in the Sargasso Sea...

maodiver - Whoops! You're right on the money. Got my Loch & Lake monsters mixed up. My one brain cell left doesn't process stuff quite as good as it used to I'm afraid. Thanks for the correction. I don't want to insult any of those beasties.

The old snake rumor seems to always catch on. You say to your fishing buddy where it can be overheard ...
"did you see the size of that timber rattler ...?"
