I just ordered my first rod kit (6'6" 2 wt) and was searching for some videos. I found these at Batson Enterprizes (no relation and I don't think the kit I bought was from them...) If this link has been posted before my apologies.

I thought this was an excellent step by step for rod building. I'll know better, perhaps, in a few weeks.

I built a 6 6 2wt. I ordered the components from Utmost Enterprises. Batson's outlet store. Spent 52 bucks shipped for the components. I highly recomend Utmost for components if you plan on building more rods.

I built a Bamboo rod from a kit that I bought on ebay. The price was great and as far as I know the rod came out great and fishes well. I sold the rod before I even casted it and have never heard any complaints. Have fun with it.
