I recommend what ever reel you have will work fine. This is not rocket science. For $^^%&*% sake I used a piece of $$%^^$ for my first reel> Just do it!!!

OK you are good guy and you need good advise. buy a JW Young Pridex 3? or bigger. It is an excellent used reel, will last a lifetime and you will be proud to own it. I suggest you cruise Ebay, you can pick one up for between 60.00 and 110/00 dependising cn condition. email me and I will fill you on on a good and safe source. sincrely, Jonezee

Can't comment on Jonezee's rec. but he's been around the block so it's good...if saving a few bucks is not an issue..[the 20% off H&H Venture thing]...I would go with the Orvis Battenkill bar stock rec.

    Tioga Teton. Pretty and functional.

Had the same problem when they stopped making steel beer cans!! Just ordered a G. Loomis for the new 'boo rod. $100.00 from Cabela's.

Teton Tioga (The other guy had it backwards). It will probably last as long as you will, maybe longer.
