Fish, not shadow boxes are the ultimate judge of our work, Gigmaster.

For me one good tip was Davie McPhail's "measure and pinch" method of mounting the wing's. If you watch his video's on wet flies you know what I mean. I picked this theme because it was a challenge to me as well but so far everyone has done great in my opinion. Can't wait to see the rest.

I watched that one, as well as several others, but the feathers just would not cooperate. You're probably going to be disappointed with my pathetic attempts.

Anyway, flies (or whatever they are...) are in the mail.

I think your just being hard on yourself Gigmaster. You always tie great flies and I'm sure they are fine. None of us can be Don Bastian or Davie McPhail unless we keep trying and keep tying and then maybe one day.

Alright folks , we are well into August and I just wanted to check on everyone's progress. I have gotten most and a few others are on the way. How is everyone else doing out there?

I just got back into town. I will get mine finished up tonight and into the mail tomorrow, via priority mail. Sorry for the delay. I had hoped to get them done before I left, but kept having some quality issues.

Mine are on the way, pitiful as they are.

I had a few extras, so just be be sure they will at least catch fish, I tried one out at the trout stream, a little ways down from the house. As ugly as the flies are, I was able to catch 4 fish on only one cast. I just picked them up from the surface of the water, after they died laughing....
