We were having a convo along these lines the other day, and my buddy who is going to fish the Provo for the third or fourth time says, "I asked for a Fox Caddis Poopah in Utah, and they asked me if I was from California...the flies work there but no one wants them, only CA people ask for em". So I can see what you are saying, Buddy et al.

One of these days I am gonna go back east and fish with "California" flies to see if fish are not as picky. The ones I tie here work fine for me

I tie my flies for fun mainly for my own fly-boxes. However I love to share with friends when fishing with them. When I'm catching and they aren't, it is great fun to share THE fly I tied that catches their fish for the day. There is no greater joy than helping someone catch a fish while I am fishing and catching fish! Especially the kids!

when the fish are "whacking" my fly.....and no one elses...i could sell them for $10 a piece....but i usually just give 1 or 2 to interested people..and get the satifaction of watching THEM catch fish!

My flies always look like a chicken exploded next to a hook.
