Check the fishing reports on Little River outfitter's web site. If the water temps. are 68* and below (on the lower Little river where they take them) they should be cooler up at Elkmont by a few degrees. When the lower river temps are 70* or higher, I leave the trout alone and fish for smallmouth on the same river (the Little) down from townsend a few miles in the Walland, Tn area. On the other side of the mountain, you will also have good smallmouth fishing on the Little Pigeon, in Sevierville and Pigeon forge. Abrams Creek in Cades Cove is spring fed and stays colder in the summer months, so there you have a few fly fishing options!
