I have steel & ceramic tip bobbins & I have had a one that cut thread right from the factory. There was a burr on the inner end of the tube, I just put a few strands of kevelar thread in the bobbin & grabbed both ends of the thread & flipped the thread around like a jump rope allowing the bobbin to spin on the thread . It did a nice job of smoothing out the burrs.
Somewhere , I don't remember if it was on this board, there was a post on how to put a glass bead in the end of a bobbin. Anyone remember it?
