Had to show off this fish from yesterday...just over 30 lbs, my fourth common over thirty and first big fish this year. What a beast!

Caught her on a green soft hackle from just over a rod length away. She was tailing with three other fish so I had to risk a stalk in order to make sure I got the fly to this fish and not the others that were right with her. Snuck up on her like a heron and she ate the second she saw the fly. I caught one other fish yesterday at 22 lbs and my buddy david landed a nice 16 lber. Carping should heat up the next few weeks out west!

Iwas fishing a 7 wt gloomis native run glx, my favorite carping stick. Felt great to get on the big fish board this year with a real beast!
