    Default A Lady's Rod...

This rod was built on a 8', 4pc, 5/6 Tiger Eye blank. The grip, reel seat, and fighting butt are made with tulip wood and Flor grade cork. The hardware is all gunsmoke colored and the guides are wrapped down with Dark brown thread tipped with bronze. The background in the graphic is Rainbow Trout skin behind Susan's name. The reel is one of my Clear Creek reels in gunsmoke.

Gee, I wonder what the NOW and other Fem groups would say if they heard that the title or description of anything was, "Made for a MAN". LOL.

I don't usually comment on graphite rods, but that one is gorgeous. Well done!

They will generally perform better, too, Thomas. Not everyone agrees with this but most custom builders set each blank up for optimum accuracy and line flow. Most factory rods are simply assembled, maybe on the straightest axis and an average guide placement is used. Many custom builders locate the spine on each rod which is also the plane in which the blank wants to flex. The guides are placed on that plane and spacing is optimized for that particular blank for better line flow. This should result in better distance on a cast as well as better accuracy. You think that high end Sage is a great rod? Have one built and set up correctly and it will be pure nirvana.
