Beginning to like these customs over factory rods, the differences make em special!
They will generally perform better, too, Thomas. Not everyone agrees with this but most custom builders set each blank up for optimum accuracy and line flow. Most factory rods are simply assembled, maybe on the straightest axis and an average guide placement is used. Many custom builders locate the spine on each rod which is also the plane in which the blank wants to flex. The guides are placed on that plane and spacing is optimized for that particular blank for better line flow. This should result in better distance on a cast as well as better accuracy. You think that high end Sage is a great rod? Have one built and set up correctly and it will be pure nirvana.
Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.
