My wife gave me a birthday gift of a night at a B&B in Buena Vista, CO yesterday. I had hoped to hit the caddis hatch during this warm spring, but I was still a little early. I think if we had been a couple of days earlier, it would have been better. We caught the leading edge of a cold front that blew in Saturday night and the full brunt of it this morning as we left in a snow storm.

I did manage to catch six nice browns and hooked a nice rainbow that left me with a great memory of his jump as he threw the hook. I had planned to fish caddis flies, but caught all the fish on a jujubaetis pattern. One more week and the conditions should be ripe for those who are able to get there. I still had a great time and hope to get back up there again as soon as I can.
