March Brown by Bob Jacklin

Hi,

For those who might not know Bob Jacklin, he is a long, long-time guide and shop owner in West Yellowstone. A man of slight stature, but more exuberance than probably anyone I know.

Anyway, I think his March Brown nymph is about the best I've seen and I thought I would share a pic of it with you.

Bob's fun to watch at tying seminars. At the end he takes requests. Will tie any fly anybody ever heard of. That's not easy to do.

I agree. I have one of his originals he gave me at a show in Somerset, NJ, one year. I fished his pattern this year and had a blast.

Bob is one of the nicest guys out there. Having the pleasure to speak with him in his shop a couple of years ago. The guy is just wonderful to speak with.

I wasn't aware that Bob Jacklin is no longer tying flies commercially. He tied several dozen flies for a friend of mine 2-3 years ago, of which I got approximately 2 dozen. Mine include a half dozen green drake duns, a half dozen green drake spinners, and a half dozen large parachute spinner pattern of Jacklin's origin.
