Thread: My first vest

    Default My first vest

So, last Christmas, got my first vest. Redington Blackfoot River vest, no mesh.

Just did my review of it.

Anyone else have any good things to say about Redington? What about vests? Are they all created equal? It was a gift, so I have no standard of comparison.

I love Redington. Great equipment, fairly low cost compared to others and awesome customer service. I have had a number of vest and they aren't all created equal. I like a short vest which will allow me to wade a little deeper. Mesh is great in the summer and solid material is a little heavier but helps keep you a little warmer in the cooler Fall season. I don't use a vest anymore. I switched to a waist pack, which I love.

The best tip I can give on using a vest is DON'T OVER LOAD IT.
Because you have so much space to put things in pockets, etc., the automatic reaction is to bring practically everything you own onto the water. Don't.

Been there, done that. Good advice.
