size 14 hook, blue dun hackle, extended body, gold wood duck wing, tan dubbing

here is a link on how to create the extended body:

    simple mayfly:

    1.jpg

tie in extended body, trim excess on angle.

    2.jpg

place duck feather on top of hook, make 3 loose wraps

    3.jpg

pull feather back for desired wing length, split tips for wings, x and figure 8 wrap, clip excess on angle.

    4.jpg

apply dubbing, tie in hackle feather, wrap forward, create small head.

    5.jpg

    apply head cement, and finished.

fly works for me on the pond, haven't had the chance to get it on a stream yet..
    happy tying!

if every cast caught a fish, it would be called "catching" not "fishing"
