Did you see the shots of the rod loading and unloading during the double haul? Incredible casting and cinematography! Many thanks to the author of that YouTube page (not me) for the preservation of this film.

What type and taper of line do you think he was using? Looked like a flat line to me. Possibly silk, oiled nylon or the then new PVC covered nylon core plastic line? Hard to tell from that video.

I love watching old footage of the outdoors like this one. Thanks that felt good. We used to have one of those shows in the Kansas City area produced by the longest running fishing show host Herald Ensley.I don't think he shot any footage in anything othe than 8mm reel to reel, even in the modern age of 15 years ago.
