How are they to land? Do they put up a good fight? Cool looking fish.

Loads of fun , we landed this one in a net, they fight petty well and they taste great on the grill! One thing I was told to do was use a 30lb flouro bite tippet, which worked well, but you will lose some fish, as I found out when a nice fish hit the fly close to the boat and cut the leader. Greatt fish to flyfish for!

Never tried them, but these tied on long-shank hooks may help cut down (no pun intended) on bite-offs:

Macs are great fun. Strong strike, good initial run. I use the long shank hooks with synthetic material flies and 25# fluoro tippets. They can shred natural materials pretty fast.

I think I will have to make another trip over to my pal's house for a Cedar Key trip, and try your suggestions!
