Question any suggestions on a decent kit for a beginner?

    hello,
im interested in building my fist rod ever..... thinking about going for a ultra light, i own a 40$ Tica ultralight 5'6" but would like something that could cast a little further. don't get me wrong, i love that rod... but, there can always be room for improvement....
so i guess im asking if anyone could help on figuring out what a good starter kit would be for someone with no experience in the trade....
i would prefer it to be a 2 piece with fast action... dont want to shell out more then 70$ in case i destroy it. lol
ive looked through many, many stores online and it seems ultralights are hard to come by... for starters...
    can anyone help?
    thanks,
    spoof

Look here. Very good prices and there are 2pc kits.

Look at Hook and Hackle, I think they are having a special right now.

H&H has decent kits as mentioned. If your looking for a faster action longer casting rod though then Mudhole has the MHX spin rod kit 4-8lb test line, 7ft blank fast action MHX, whole kit on sale right now for $75. Part # is MHXSK-18

I agree with looking in Hook And Hackle, as well as Mudhole when it comes to building you Graphite Rods. They have some very nice Blank kits that do not cost very much, and you come out with a very nice rod (even in the 1 and 2 weights).

Hook and Hackle has some very nice kits and they run sales on them often. Get on their mailing list and you will get e-mails on their specials. Their Forecast kits will make you a nice rod without breaking the bank.
