Default Rod size for Cape Cod

Any suggestions as to a good all around rod size for fishing Cape Cod? Nothing crazy, just some late summer inshore and surf fishing. What do you recommend?

If your talking Blues or Stripers, I would use a 9'-11' 10 or 11wt.

Check out Stripers online website. It's a great source for SW fishing

I've used 9' 8 and 9 wts for the past 25 years there. Plenty of stick.

I also use an 8 or 9 wt. 10 is starting to get a bit heavy. There is not alot of need for the extra weight.
I agree with stripersonline.com or reel-time.com or flyfishsaltwaters.com. All have an honest New England perspective.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 9' 9wt that I was going to take with me and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going too heavy or too light.

    I used an 8wt.
Heavier might be handy if you are tossing big flies into the wind.
I took a 6wt for Shad in the harbor/river mouths in case the Bass were offshore.
