During the summer, I often leave my gear in the car during the day so that I can sneak out after work to fish. The heat in the car does a number on my wading boots. I've gone through a pair each of the last three years and I'm looking for options (and taking my gear out of the car isn't one of them). They typically wear at the top end of the arch on the inside. On most boots there is a seam that goes over the toes -- this seam is what usually goes if they are stitched. If they are glued, then the heat and moisture pulls the apart the glue.

I'm considering buying a cheapie pair of knock-off converse all-stars and trying barge cement and felt. Is there an inexpensive source of felt out there?
