Default Off Topic - Sort Of. What you miss if you aren't out at night. Awesome Night Sky Vid

Some of us do fish at night, camp, etc.... Those that do know what the nighttime sky is like in remote places with little to no light pollution. If you don't do these things then you are really missing something beautiful almost beyond belief.

Check out this awesome time lapse production of the night sky:

There are times when I am night fishing that I just lay the rod down, park my large butt on the ground and stare in awe at the night sky. Randy and his gang did one heck of a job on that video. Having tried to do some simple night sky photography I can tell you that what they did is nothing short of astounding here. To say it was difficult would be the understatement of the decade!

I hope you enjoyed the show.

I will never forget an AT at Ft. Hood, we were bivouacked several miles from the nearest electric light. After a young 2LT became bored and decided to roam around at night, including climbing into parked aircraft, I spend the remainder of the night beside an OH-6A listening for idiots and watching the Texas sky where the stars really are big and bright and that night active. I saw more "shooting stars" that night than the rest of my life combined.

God has blessed us here in Wyoming with a great abundance of Light polution free areas to view the skies at night. AND a vast majority of cloud free night to add to it.

Light pollution was something I had never thought about until there was some astrological event, that was not going to be easy to see, when my daughter was in high school. It was almost impossible to find a place in our community without having some light infiltration.
