    Default Shortening the Shaft

Has anyone here ever attempted to shorten the shaft on a Minn Kota transom mount trolling motor? I know it voids the warranty but the motor is old enough that it's not an issue. I'd just like to avoid the pitfalls of attempting it myself.

There an ap for that, really it's just a link. I am surprised there is not a Youtube video. My trolling motors have not been as complicated as this one but I figured this would probably help.

Thanks Uncle Jesse. That's exactly what I was looking for. It looks like a lot of work but probably should be to be done right.
