Laughed my butt off at that one. Looks like some of my first "casting". I used the same method when I became disgusted with the amount of sticks leaves and rocks I was catching and it nearly doubled my catch . Luke

If I had to put that much effort into a cast I give up fly fishing.

That is a legit way of loading your rod when you have too much line out so you can make a quick cast. I have done variations of that cast many times but it is not my favorite way to pick up a line off the water and load the rod. Spey casters do something like that almost all the time.

I don't know about this...I kind of feel like the only thing in fly fishing that should ever look that frenzied is the fish on the end of the line. Or me trying desperately to tie on one more fly before the light is all gone.
