Default Gary LaFontaine's Halo Mayfly Emerger

    Hi,

Don't laugh at this pattern. LaFontaine's book "TroutFlies - Proven Patterns" details the results of the divers who were observing Gary's flies in the water with feeding trout. They recorded the percentage of "no refusals". This one garnered a 96% score.

This is a size 16. The only different thing is that I substituted orange bucktail for the requisite orange deer hair.

Just noticed. This is actually the Halo Midge Emerger. The Halo Mayfly Emerger is the same, except that it has trailing antron fibers.

This would be the Halo Mayfly Emerger version. I did find some orange/red deer hair. Surprising!!!!! Never know what you might found around your tying area.
