I'm heading back out to Hawaii tomorrow with a box of stuff that looks like that. I just call them bonefish flies. Never fished for carp on the fly rod before, but I'll give them a shot this year.

The backstabber is a great pattern, I carry them in orange, purple and black. Carp suck them right up.

Id have to agree with the backstabber. Ive used it here on Lake St Clair and it has been one of my top producing flies by far. Catches everything, especially largemouth. I may tie them a little smaller than recommended and use a size 4 B10S hook. Also a great fly for sheepshead. Fishing instructions are easy: cast out, let sink, hold on!

One of the files I tie for carp, I call the Carpinator. It is a scaled down Gotcha pattern, tied in freshwater colors. It is my absolute best carp fly.
