KORN'S CDC - SPENT-WING CADDIS SBS
This caddis pattern is a great guide fly because it's fast and easy to tie and if it's fished properly very effective. I fish it as a trailing fly tied about 12-18 inches behind a dry fly like a; Korn's CDC Spent-wing Parachute Caddis, X-Caddis or a hopper. This is my go to fly and it works just as well in the East or West.
Thanks for this one, Doug. It is one neat caddis pattern and you've done an excellent job on the ( FOTW ) presentation.

There's a cost factor, obviously, but working with clamps, etc. is a pain in the butt to me. The "14-24" is BS, but it works fine for #12-16 or maybe 18.
Incidentally, I just added this to Doug's profile on the PFS website: "Walter's note: if Doug sounds like somebody you'd like to fish with, e-mail him to demand he return to work full-time for PFS. There's hope for 2013..."
